Modmo is hiring a general manager to setup and operate a bicycle assembly factory in Ho Chi Minh City. You will be responsible for the assembly of components being made into finished goods. The candidate will be responsible for developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team by building working relationships and being adept at all aspects of people management (coaching, leading, directing, managing within process) whilst ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are met.
They will lead the assembly function within budget and meeting/exceeding output targets to meet both internal and external customer requirements and standards. Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern lean manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
The candidate should possess levels of emotional intelligence (self-awareness), be resilient and optimistic about change. There management style should be flexible to that of their audience and be capable of having adult-adult conversations.
Main Duties:

Quality control
• Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimizing costs where possible and ensure the required best working practices are always maintained by drawing up production schedule to meet demand, working out the human and materials resources required
• Responsible for departments, financial performance, meeting requirements and maintaining the orderly and productive operation of planned activities and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets
• Ensure the target productivity level is achieved daily and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of production performance.
• Communicate and liaise with other departmental managers regarding throughput of stock to ensure production targets are met.
• Drive process improvements on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by appropriate data analyst and implement strategy for organizational development focused on cost reduction and have a fresh approach to implementing improvements
• Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions.
• Produce written reports and make presentations when required.
• Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required.
• Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the factory.
• Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care
• Supervising and motivating section team leaders
• Use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in production activities and procedures
• Full responsibility for your team delivering against a challenging range of KPI’s covering production performance and cost, quality, delivery
• Update the production plan daily, monitoring production processes and adjusting schedules as needed
• Undertake continuous training and development
• Manage all staff reporting to the position to effectively recruit, train, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activities
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems (LEAN approach) implementing culture change, multi skilling staff and implementing lean manufacturing processes
People Management
• Ensure the delivery of the People Strategy within area of accountability
• Manage, coach and develop a high performing manufacturing team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
• Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
• Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required
• Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, managing holiday allowances, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximize efficient productivity
• Motivate and coach the team to operational success whilst providing technical expertise to the team
• Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems
• Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them.
• Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility
• Communicate KPIs from the strategic annual plan so that each employee is aware.
• Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements
Financial and Budget Control
• Input and hold responsibility for manufacturing budgets
• Support the preparation the annual budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards. Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects
• Responsible for achieving budget and forecast
• Manage Payroll budget and process for department
Relationship Management
• Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
• Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained
• Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers
• Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the purchasing strategy
• Communicate with stakeholders the impact of market change and potential effects on engineering design and development. Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost
• Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact
• Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Manufacturing activities

You will be the first dedicated human resource employee and will be in charge of designing our employment policies and framework. Your main duty will be to manage current employees and to help recruit staff on an on-going basis. You will be working directly alongside senior executives to understand and plan for future staffing requirements.
1. Recruitment - Fully proceeding the recruitment cycle from plan to execution.
· Having a good sense in identifying, approaching and attracting potential candidates
· Creating a pool of candidates through recruiting activities, social networking, community organizations, and media channels
· Screen CVs to shortlist the qualified candidates for the right positions and coordinate with team leaders/PM/GM to arrange interviews and follow up the offers
· Build up HR network, industry network and suitable channels for recruitment to attract qualified candidates, especially in the engineering sector
· Pro-actively analyze and anticipate resource needs in order to advise or implement strategy and plan to address the needs effectively
· Collaborate in the development of strategy and best practices aiming at efficient hiring for senior, managerial positions as well as positions requiring specific competencies
· Actively proposing and implementing ideas or actions to improve process, and to meet targets both in terms of number and quality
· Running private contacts with Recruitment Agencies; independently proceeding Searching from time to time to look for the suitable talents
· Building candidate data base in serving for long-term recruitment planning strategy
2. Compensation and Benefits
